Sharm El Sheikh offers a fantastic golfing experience for all visitors, at the Jolie Ville Movenpick Golf Resort. The 18-hole Championship golf course was opened in 1998, and offers both beginners and the more experienced an excellent day out. The lush green course is dotted with palm trees, offering 6021m with a par of 72, which requires skill and considerable precision.
14 of the holes have water obstacles and the 12th is particularly good – 406 metres long and a par 4, after an initial arid stretch it ends on a green that is well defended by a lake. There are excellent practice facilities available, including a Driving Range and a Par 3 Course. Weekly Golf tournaments and Golf schools are arranged for hotel guests. The luxury Golf Club house provided a great way to relax after a game, and is frequently used to host important Middle East peace conferences. There is also a pro golf shop, selling leading brands of golf equipment, just in case you forgot your clubs!
